A New Life {birth photography in jakarta}

A few weeks ago, I got to do a really amazing thing. I got to take pictures of a brand new baby being born. I got to witness the power and beauty of new life. I got to sense that tension which hangs in the air as a mother labours under the weight of birth. I got to feel the electricity of those goosebumps that come when the baby makes her first cry.

It was magic. The whole experience: the lovely, wonderful family who invited me and my camera into such a tender moment in their lives; and to get to do this one year and four days after Hugo was born in that very same hospital, delivered by the very same doctor? Incredible.

I want to do this again. And again. And again. I think I've found my new favourite thing to photograph.
