Stella: She learned to swim this week. Like really. Head above water and everything. This kid amazes me. Ever since she was teeny tiny, she's been doing things at her own schedule. She waits and waits and waits to master a skill until she's very sure that she'll do it first try.

Hugo: He started saying doooo-do which means choo-chooo. He's been really into watching cars recently. We took him for a ride on the shopping mall train, and he was nearly bursting with delight. Dooooo-dooo!
