"a portrait of my children, once a week, every week, in 2015."

Stella: She's not watched any TV at all this week, and I feel like a whole new side of her imagination has opened up.

Hugo: He's overflowing with new words now, and he even had an entire conversation with me on the phone! Hi Hugo! Hi. How are you? Good. <3 <3 <3

First up, let's get this out of the way. HOW IS IT WEEK THIRTY???? Already? How??  I feel like a grave sense of betrayal. Like, man. Time has really pulled on over on me.

Okay, so, now we've got that off my chest.

We've been screen free for a week! A week and two days, actually. When we started this exercise, I was sure it would be worse for me than for the kids. I mean, free babysitting GOOOOOOOONE. What ever would I do? But, a surprising thing happened. And it has been lovely. Truly. More about that here, if you're into it.

We finally got properly and truly moved back into our apartment after about six? eight? weeks of , emptied the storage room and everything. I wouldn't go so far as to say that we're all organized and set up in the house now, there's still quite a lot of chaos going on, and I feel like there's still room to cull a fair amount of junk, but we've made a decent start.

The kids and I had an outing to Kidzania this week. I had been putting off going, because I thought it might be sort of terrible. You know, intense, loud, blinking lights, buzzers, horns, bling, bang, flash, corporate marketing to children nonsense. And it was. All of that. But the kids loved it. And I did too? I dunno. It was really fun watching them pretend to be, like, bread sellers and hair cutters, and hotel workers. And Hugo's life long dream of sitting in the front seat of a mini taxi totally came true. So.

I also took off for a little solo adventure in Bali, meeting up with a lovely photographer whose work I so admire. I was kind of nervous about this trip, you know? I was thinking like, her work is amazing, and she's obviously ten thousand times cooler than I could ever be, and like, she's just in another league on another level. But, you know? As it turns out, people are just people, and we just hung out and it was a million times more awesome than I could have ever hoped.

Anyway, a busy week! How was yours?
