Stella: She had her first week back at school after the Christmas break, and it went surprisingly okay! There were a few 5 PM tantrums as the energy and stress of the school day wore off, but otherwise she's happy to see her friends again. 

Hugo: He's super into things that stack, things with lids, and utensils of all sorts. If a stray spoon ends up in his hand at the dinner table, it's game over, he won't eat his meal. He'll be too busy getting immensely frustrated that he can not pick up his pasta with the handle end of his spoon.

While we're happy to be back to our regular routine after the school holiday, I did enjoy the break. It's nice to be around my kids all day, and I think they enjoy the quiet mornings at home and occasional outings in the afternoons.

Getting back to our routine means that we're seeing friends again, and being busy getting things done, but it also means a return to school germs. I was juuuust saying the other day to a friend, that our kids would certainly be sick this week. And lo, Hugo has croup and Stella has a case of the crazies, which is always a sure sign that she's coming down with something. Oh well, at least that means more quiet days at home with my kids!
